An event every week that begins at 9:30am on Sunday, repeating until February 18, 2018
A workshop series for Alithia Members (18+) to learn the positive psychology communication tools that form the foundation of Alithia Learning.
Uniquely tailored for Alithia parents and facilitators, this experiential, hands on workshop guides participants to understand the unintentional ramifications of our everyday way of communicating (and how misunderstandings or unexplained emotions can occur) and equips participants with tools for ensuring interactions are positive and supportive.
These techniques create a nurturing and trusting environment; people feel open and valued, they retain a willingness to develop ideas and they enjoy the process of problem-solving.
Once the psychology of interactions, reactions and unconscious behaviours are understood, participants will be able to practise relating in a conscious way, with clarity and empathy which in turn opens others to a positive experience, with the neurones in the brain firing and developing.
This workshop offers an introduction to implementing positive psychology tools drawn from an international training model developed for the workplace (by Synectics), Collaborative Innovation and Creative Arts Therapy.
The Synectics Education Initiative recognised that creativity and learning require the same environment of safety as required for innovation and creative teamwork in leading global businesses and customised these tools for teachers, parents and children to use, ensuring everyone was engaged, heard and understood. We will experience these techniques and approaches through a series of exercises practised with real current idea development and problem solving.
