Alithia Junior Launches

Alithia Junior caters for children age 2-4 years. This was opened in response to urgent requests from families requiring support after the Covid-19 lock down. (The Alithia Hub for 6+ is currently online due to Covid restrictions and will resume in person in Term 3).

From the mentor: We had an amazing first day together. The morning was spent becoming familiar with our new surroundings, testing out a range of activities and games, as well as sharing our knowledge and skills with each other. The children were quite hungry - eating early -  yet curious to see and taste what others had in their lunch boxes. This opened a conversation around while sharing with friends is fun, sharing our FOOD with others can sometimes can give them a sick tummy.

Some of us sat down for lunch, while others were keen to stay playing games. About 1pm we set up a cosy corner on the mats inside with pillows, cushions, blankets and books for quiet rest time. These children LOVE books! Four Storybooks later (Old MacDonald had a Farm, The Very Cranky Bear, Where do Giants live, The Dance of the Dinosaurs) then the children were off to play again!

A child saw a lizard, which turned out to be a "SNAKES ABOUT" sign, sparking questions on what we should do if we see a snake, who has seen a snake and the difference between a snake and a lizard!
